Two out-of-town residents were involved in an accident on Highway 21 in Rincon on Wednesday afternoon.

Around noon Gloria Gendron, of Largo, Fla., was traveling south in a white Saturn on McCall Road. She stopped at the stop sign on Highway 21 and proceeded to make a left turn onto the highway when she struck a tractor-trailer.

Driver Francisco Vazquez of Gainesville was traveling north on the highway. Gendron hit the semi on its left side.
Neither she nor Vazquez were hurt. However, Gendron’s passenger, Pearl Long, complained of injuries and was taken by ambulance to Memorial Health University Medical Center.

Sgt. 1st Class Chad Riner with the Georgia State Patrol did not suspect alcohol or drug influences.

Gendron’s Saturn appeared to be totaled and she will be charged with failure to yield the right of way, which is a misdemeanor.
