The Rev. Dr. Leo Burns, pastor of Union Springs Independent Methodist Church in Clyo, will serve as the grand marshal of Monday’s Dr. Martin Luther King Celebration in Springfield.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the MLK Observance Day Committee has scheduled one event, a noon drive-up program at the Effingham County Fairgrounds. Participants will remain in their vehicles.

Masks and social distancing will be required.
