On May 13, Georgia House Bill 1234 was signed at Putnam General Hospital in Eatonton.

Norma Jean Morgan, CEO of Effingham Hospital and Care Center and Mr. Jimmy  Lewis of Home Town Health joined Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue in signing this reform bill.

The design of this bill is to aid all of Georgia's rural hospital's in addressing care management  organizations issues. HB 1234 is a comprehensive reform of the way the Department of Community Health contracts with CMOs and to provide benefits for members of Georgia’s Peachcare for Kids and Medicaid programs.

This bill will help rural hospitals who need it because of the privatization of Medicaid.
