PORT WENTWORTH -- Public safety, transportation, recreation, flood mitigation and business growth were the primary topics at Thursday night's Port Wentworth Candidates Forum at the Holiday Inn Express.

Four Port Wentworth City Council seats are up for grabs, including the mayoral post. Incumbent Mayor Glen "Pig" Jones withdrew from consideration last week, leaving Tim Holbrook and Gary Norton to vie for the seat.

Other city council candidates include Rufus Bright Jr., Maurice Rahn and Linda Smith for the at-large seat, Sharilyn Dyal and incumbent Barbara Powers in District 1, and Lynwood Ray Griner and incumbent Debbie Johnson in Post 3.
