Public input for Transportation Master Plan sought
Roads

SPRINGFIELD -- The Effingham County Board of Commissioners encourages continued resident participation during the second round of public engagement opportunities for the  Transportation Master Plan.  Multiple opportunities are offeredto participate, including a virtual open house that runs through July 2 and a virtual public meeting June 29.

Effingham County has been working with Pond & Company to develop a Transportation Master Plan to identify high-priority locations for transportation improvements based on public input, existing traffic conditions and expectations about future growth and investment. Once identified, the team will analyze the challenges at these locations and develop a set of improvement recommendations that will relieve traffic congestion and improve roadway safety.

These projects will be prioritized based on community goals, congestion relief, safety needs and the costs and impacts of construction. The final plan document will serve as a guide for future investment in transportation infrastructure throughout the county that considers the needs of the community and prepares Effingham County for the future.

The public is encouraged to participate via the following engagement opportunities:

• Virtual open house at the project home page through July 2 at www.planningatpond.com/EffinghamTMP

•  Virtual public meeting onlineJune 29 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. This meeting will include a short presentation and members of the planning team will be available to answer questions.
