Effingham County leaders and officials will descend upon the Gold Dome of Atlanta and other venues Monday morning as Effingham Day at the Capitol begins.

The annual event, sponsored by the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce, begins at 8:30 a.m. as volunteers deliver loaves of raisin bread to state legislators’ offices. Attendees will gather at 9:45 a.m. Monday for the 10 a.m. start of the state House of Representatives session, which will have an Effingham Day recognition from state Reps. Jon Burns and Ann Purcell.
