SPRINGFIELD — A few meets into the cross country season, Effingham County coach Katy Fleming thinks her teams are running at a successful pace.

“We’re looking pretty good,” she said. “We’ve had a few personal records set.”
In her most recent outing, Catherine Hall placed third in the Jekyll Island Invitational at 21:14. She won the season’s first race — the Terror Run at Blythe Island State Park in Brunswick — at 21:58.
Joining Hall in Effingham County’s top five female runners are De’ja House, Megan Hilton, Kristen Hint and Laura Mettler.
Rafael Osella has been the leader of the boys team, notching some top 15 finishes.
“He’s had some pretty good runs,” Fleming said.
Kody Everett, Drew Kurtz, Gunnar Tyson and Nicholas Granstrom have also been stalwarts for the Rebels.
