Rebels extend season; Glynn Academy ousts Effingham County girls

BRUNSWICK -- Effingham County's boys basketball team kept its season alive Monday night by beating Glynn Academy 61-48 in a play-in game for the Region 2-AAAAAA tournament at Brunswick.

Thanks to the victory, the Rebels will play top-seeded Brunswick in the tourney opener Wednesday at 8 p.m.. The Pirates edged Effingham County 60-50 on Friday in Springfield.

Effingham County's girls ended their season Monday with a 54-31 loss at Glynn Academy.
