Rebels' Griffin named Region 2-AAAAAA's top coach

Effingham County's Brett Griffin has been named the coach of the year by his baseball counterparts in Region 2-AAAAAA.

Griffin led the Rebels to a 21-9 record, including 10-2 in 2-AAAAAA games.

The other top honors bestowed by region coaches went to Brunswick's Harrison Trawick (player of the year) and Glynn Academy's Will Bowdoin (pitcher of the year).

Effingham County was also represented by catcher Perry Fulcher, first baseman Jerid Stokes, middle infielder Christian Campbell, outfielder Chase Howze, utility player Jordan Rahn and pitcher Ethan Johnson.

Pitcher Avery Elenbaas and infielder Zach Wilson of the Rebels received honorable mention.
