The Rincon City Council met Monday night for a regularly-scheduled meeting to discuss a number of topics, many of which ending up being tabled for later meetings due to insufficient information.
Under old business was a recommendation for a revision to the Wrecker Contract that the city of Rincon has. The contract was previously discussed in a past council meeting and it was decided that the involved parties would need to meet with the city’s attorney, Raymond Dickey, at another time to revise the contract. The involved party and Dickey made three small changes to the contract and the council voted to approve it Monday night.
A discussion on Bent Tree Subdivision warranty deed submitted by Al Trimm was tabled by the council to a future meeting after having been tabled once before at a meeting on June 26.
A discussion on the future of 3rd Street Extension was also tabled by the council.
In new business, the council had a discussion for a purchase agreement for GMA’s IT in a Box, which would allow the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) to re-do the city’s website and manage it.
The contract would not be long-term and there would be a fixed cost – due to Rincon City Manager, Wes Smith, not being present at the meeting, the council decided to table the vote until a later date.
The council approved a request by Leo Talton of ROC Enterprises to subdivide a 1.9 acre tract into two lots located on Lexington Avenue.
The council also approved a request of Budget Amendment 2016-13 to adjust 2016 General Fund Budget and approved a request to purchase 146 meter registers from Delta Municipal Supply in the amount of $17,220.00.
The council meets every second and fourth Monday each month. The next meeting will take place on Aug. 14.
