Rincon sets qualifying fees, dates

Qualifying for Rincon’s upcoming municipal elections will be held Aug. 26-30.


The qualifying fee for mayor is $126 and the qualifying fee for city council is $90.


Four seats are up for election, including mayor. Council members whose terms are up are Scott Morgan, Frank Owens and Levi Scott Jr.


Qualifying for Rincon city elections will run from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. each day. Prospective candidates must be registered to vote in Rincon and must be a resident of Rincon for at least a year before election day.

Rincon’s municipal elections will be held Nov. 5 at the Vernon C. Hinely Community Center.


Rincon residents wishing to vote in the election can register up to Oct. 7 at 5 p.m.
