Roundabout to close briefly Oct. 1

GUYTON -- The new roundabout at Ga. Hwy 119/Springfield Avenue and Ga. Hwy 17/Central Boulevard will close Monday, Oct. 1 starting at 1 a.m. for paving of the circular configuration. It will reopen to traffic by 4 a.m.

There will be no off-site signed detour because the work will only last a short period.
 
On Sept. 30 by 8 p.m., the contractor will begin working utilizing standard traffic control flagging operations while maintaining traffic flow through the roundabout. 

McLendon Enterprises Inc. is in charge of the $3.4 million Effingham County project and will be complete by December 2018.
