Effingham County Sheriff’s deputies are continuing to search for a felon who failed to show for a jury trial last week.

Ronnie Williams, 25, of Guyton, was scheduled to stand before Effingham County Superior Court Judge John R. Turner for a jury trial Thursday. Williams had been charged with the sale of cocaine and possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute.

“He has an extensive criminal history,”ECSO spokesman Detective David Ehsanipoor said.

Williams has five previous convictions — two for possession of cocaine, one for possession of marijuana, one for theft by receiving stolen property and one for possession/use of drug-related objects.

According to the ECSO, Williams recently made threats against individuals involved in several drug cases. He also may be involved with tampering with a witness’ vehicle, which then crashed, seriously injuring the driver.

He is known to frequent the Guyton and Rincon areas and also Savannah, according to Ehsanipoor.

Anyone with information on Williams’whereabouts is asked to contact the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office at 754-3449.
