Carolyn Bashlor with the Senior Southeastern Georgia Pageant made a presentation of a $800 check to Habitat for Humanity on Saturday. The check was deposited in Habitat's construction fund and will be used to purchase the interior doors for the house Habitat and its volunteers are building with Shirley Milton and her family.
“Congratulations to Carolyn Bashlor and all the beautiful and talented contestants,” said Habitat for Humanity of Effingham County Executive Director George Groce. “I think it is wonderful that these ladies continue to give to their community and support the families of Effingham County.
“Habitat for Humanity of Effingham County receives tremendous benefits from our affiliation with the Senior Southeastern Georgia Pageant. These ladies are wonderful role models for our parents especially our mothers.”
Milton’s house is at 600 Ingram Road in the Shawnee community.
“Of course, we greatly appreciate the financial donation to our building fund,” Groce said. “This donation will be used to purchase the interior doors on a house we are finishing for Shirley Milton and her children.”
