Former Effingham County High School FFA Chapter President Annah Shearouse received her American FFA Degree at the recent 90th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The prestigious American FFA Degree is awarded to less than 1 percent of FFA members. This shows its exceptional distinction and the dedication of recipients.

Shearouse has spent the last two years serving as a staffer during FFA Summer Leadership camp. She is a junior at the University of Georgia where she is an Agricultural Education Major.

Shearouse's advice to students who are not sure if FFA is for them: "GO FOR IT! I didn't grow up on a farm, and I never imagined I would be an ag teacher one day. Get involved and see where it takes you. There are few things I am more passionate about than my blue cordury (FFA) jacket!"

There was a record set for attendance at the 90th National FFA Convention. There were 67,006 members, guests and supporters.

The National FFA organization has almost 700,000 members, making it the largest youth led organization in the world.
