Sheriff's Office has answered 945 Guyton calls in 2019

RINCON -- Since Jan. 1, the Effingham County Sheriff's Office has answered 945 calls from the Guyton Police Department's jurisdiction, including 176 traffic stops..

The calls represented more than 50 categories, ranging from downed trees (1) to physical domestic disturbances (7).

There were 53 animal complaints.

Deputies have responded to 32 residential alarms and 17 business alarms. It made 53 agency assists and 88 business checks.

Forty-one calls were dubbed miscellaneous and there were 28 911 hang-ups.

During June, July and August, the Guyton Police Department made one arrest and wrote three citations. It issued no warnings.
