GUYTON — After losing 73-61 and 71-41, respectively, at home to Ware County on Monday, South Effingham’s boys and girls are set to visit Ware County on Wednesday for play-in games for the Region 2-AAAAA tournament, which starts Thursday in Statesboro.
The Mustangs are set to face the Gators at 7:30 p.m. The winners will earn a state playoff bid and the right to face Statesboro at 8 p.m. Thursday.
The Lady Mustangs are set to face New Hampstead at 6 p.m. Thursday at Ware County. South Effingham athletic director Jeff Faith, however, has petitioned the Georgia High School Association to move the contest to New Hampstead.

The winner of the girls' game will face Ware County at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Statesboro.
