Springfield Fire Department honors its own
officer of the year

The Springfield Fire Department held its awards banquet Thursday night at Springfield United Methodist Church’s social hall.

James Derryberry will take over as chief from Edwin Rahn, the 21-year veteran who is stepping down from that position.  

The department also held a retirement recognition for Richard Dallow, who spent 17 years in service. Dallow’s helmet also was retired.
