SPRINGFIELD -- Springfield conducted its Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade on Monday.

The annual celebration of the life and achievements of King, an American civil rights leader, also included the Homer. L Wallace Unity Breakfast at the Effingham Recreation and Parks Department. A Youth Day Service followed.

The theme for the parade was "Peach and equality, a dream for all people."
