State troopers probe fatal Sunday wreck

Georgia State Patrol troopers are investigating a crash that claimed the life of a Savannah woman Sunday night .

Dorothy Cuyler, age 70, was killed when her green 2001 Toyota Avalon left Highway 17 and struck a tree. Sgt. 1st Class Chad Riner, commander of GSP Post 42 in Rincon, said investigators don’t know why Cuyler’s car ran off the highway near Marlow Road.

Cuyler was the only passenger in her vehicle and no other vehicles were involved in the accident, which took place about 8:30 p.m.

Cuyler was taken by Effingham EMS to Memorial Health University Center in Savannah, where she later died.
