The Rotary Club of Effingham County and Effingham Sunrise Rotary award annual scholarships in the amount of $2,500 to select seniors graduating from the high schools in Effingham County who intend to pursue a post-secondary education. 

The motto of Rotary is “Service Above Self”and it is the belief of Rotary that these students will give back to their communities through their volunteer work as students and eventually as Rotarians.


Rotary Club of Effingham County

Waylon Callaway plans to attend Georgia Southern University. He will be majoring in Biochemistry. He hopes that someday he will make a difference in people's lives by assisting in the development of medicines.

Zachary Trinh, the Sunrise Rotary winner, plans to attend the University of Georgia. He will major in Biology and hopes to earn his BS degree and his MS degree in five years through the Double Dawgs Program. His primary focus will be in Marine Science.


Sunrise Rotary

Reagan Brown will be attending Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville.  Brown will be majoring in Criminal Justice.  

Christopher (CJ) Hickox will be attending Georgia Southern University.  Hickox will be majoring in Food and Nutrition Science.  

Once Hickox earns his BS degree, he hopes to further his education with his ultimate career goal of becoming a physician’s assistant.
