Sunday package sales in Rincon to begin Jan. 1
kroger

After voters determined that Sunday package sales of alcohol would be allowed on Election Day last month, the implementation of that ordinance will commence Jan. 1.

Starting this Sunday, citizens of Rincon and from other areas in Effingham County will be able to purchase packaged beer or wine from any store in Rincon, including Kroger Marketplace, Walmart and all convenience stores.

Stores in Rincon will be able to sell packaged beer and wine on Sundays from the hours of 1 p.m. until 11:59 p.m.

Restaurants in Rincon will continue to sell alcohol on Sunday. The goal of the law being passed is to make stores in Rincon competitive with stores in Port Wentworth.

Please drink responsibly and do not drink and drive. This law, while beneficial to the local economy, should not be misused or practiced irresponsibly.
