Community member gathered Wednesday for a groundbreaking “Wall Destruction” at the United Way Effingham Service Center. Those in attendance took swings at the wall for $5 a hit in support of the renovations that will begin at the center on Friday. The renovations are expected to be complete in June, and the center will house eight agencies including the United Way when the renovations are complete.
