GUYTON — The road to the Class AAAAA championship was cut short for South Effingham, which fell to the Harris County Tigers in the Sweet Sixteen on Oct. 18. The Mustangs lost in five sets, 20-25, 25-21, 25-20,2 2-25 and 13-15).

“Harris County was a competitive team that was evenly matched with us in terms of offense and defense,” Mustangs coach Chancey Garrett said. “I am extremely proud of how my girls played. They fought hard and those were very close sets. When playing a sport, sometimes the outcome just does not fall your way.”

Garrett has to say goodbye to five talented seniors.
