Traffic unit seeks information in hit-and-run case

The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit is investigating a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian.


On Friday between the hours of 10 and 11 p.m., a male subject was struck by an unknown vehicle while walking east on Savannah Town Road. The victim was transported to Memorial Health University Trauma Center where he remains in critical condition.


The traffic unit is urging anyone with information about the crash please contact the Sheriffs Office.
