Two in custody after drug bust

SPRINGFIELD -- Two people are in custody after a search was conducted on a home in Effingham County. The search warrant was executed Tuesday morning by the Effingham County Sheriff's Office and Springfield Police Department Investigators seized 18 pounds of high-grade marijuana, suspected edibles and vials of THC and vape devices. An investigation by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division, in conjunction with the Springfield Police Department, resulted in the execution of the search warrant at the home located in the 1600 Block of Ga. Hwy 21. The drugs were being shipped from California to the home via the United States Post Office, United Parcel Service and Federal Express. The search warrant also produced evidence that indicates more than $200,000 worth of illegal drugs had already been received and distributed from that home. The estimated street value of the seized drugs was just over $80,000. The suspects, Gabrielle Albright and Dustin Morgan, werecharged with: trafficking marijuana, possession to distribute marijuana, manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute (THC oil) and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. They were transported to the Effingham County Jail where they are being held.
