Wayne County wallops South Effingham

GUYTON -- James Maudlin ripped a first-inning home run against South Effingham on Wednesday, propelling the Wayne County Yellow Jackets to a 10-0 victory in six frames.

The Mustangs got their first two runners aboard with successive singles but they didn't answer Maudlin's blast. South Effingham got only three more hits the rest of the way against JT Crosby, who also belted a homer.

Doug Williams and Dylan Wallace led South Effingham with two base knocks apiece.

Josh Berg took the pitching loss. He allowed seven runs on six hits in four innings. He notched seven strikeouts.
