Hospital deserves to be commended

Dear Editor:

I want the citizens of Effingham County to know how impressed I am with their hospital.

Recently, I had to take my mother to the emergency room at the Effingham County Hospital. She was admitted for a three-day stay. From the reception desk, through emergency room registration and treatment, to care in her room, service was exceptional. In addition to the caring, competent and compassionate staff, I was particularly impressed with the attention to safety and cleanliness. Add to that excellent food for both patients and visitors. I found only one flaw in the entire experience — lack of good coffee!

I am an Effingham native who left the county over 40 years ago. I have watched with pleasure the development of the county on my frequent visits home. My father, Roy Page, was a county commissioner when I was still living at home. He passed away many years ago. I know he would be pleased to see that the vision the commissioners had many years ago has been met and surpassed. He would be thankful that my mother, Mary Page, is benefiting from that today.

Thank you, Effingham County Hospital, for making a stressful time in the life of our family much less so.
