Mr. Bill Gibson joined the Effingham County Sheriffs Office Dec. 19, 2005, as Evidence Custodian. His task was monumental. He reorganized and created an effective evidence filing system that meets high standards. His service has always been one of commitment and loyalty, often going above and beyond the call of duty.

Bill's dedication to duty was apparent when he requested to attend Evidence Technician Certification training. After completing the training and certification, he continued to enhance the effectiveness of the Evidence Technician role. He was instrumental in the success of many case prosecutions due to his attention to detail.

During the month of October each year, Bill volunteered to assist in the construction of an Effingham County Sheriffs Office display for the County Fair. This was a public relations outreach and took long hours of planning and building in addition to his regular duties.

Moreover, there have been many other community projects in which Bill voluntarily served as a citizen.

As Sheriff of Effingham County, I hereby commend Mr. William (Bill) C. Gibson for his faithful and dedicated service to the Effingham County Sheriffs Office. He is an example of a career lawman whose service has affected the lives of thousands of people for the betterment of the United States of America, Georgia and Effingham County.
