Still local ... still strong

STILL LOCAL… STILL STRONG.
We aren’t changing.
Since the Effingham Herald and its predecessor newspaper began publishing in Effingham County in 1909, we have been an independent voice giving readers local news and opinion about the issues that matter most to our community.
We’re not changing our mission, and we’re not changing our ownership.
While there are major transitions happening on the national and area media landscape, the Effingham Herald continues to be owned and operated by Savannah-based Morris Multimedia, Inc. as it has been for more than 20 years.
We know it can be confusing. But we just want to set the record straight and let readers know that the Effingham Herald and Morris Multimedia, a privately held Savannah-based company founded in 1971 by Charles H. Morris, is not affiliated or affected by the pending transfer of ownership of the Savannah daily newspaper.
Thanks for letting us clear that up.

Sincerely,
The Effingham Herald
