Effingham County advances in girls lacrosse playoffs; Ola ends South's season

Effingham County’s girls defeated Union Grove 8-7 in the first round of the Class A-5A Girls State Lacrosse Championships on April 27 to advance to the second round against Region 2 champion Westminster.

The Rebels (6-4) built a 6-2 first-half lead against Union Grove before squeaking out the win.

South Effingham’s girls lost to Ola, 17-0 in the first round.
