Springfield, Ga. — Jmere Doe-Davis ran for 164 yards and three touchdowns to lead Effingham County to a thrilling 43-35 win over Bradwell Institute on the Rebels’ homecoming Friday night.
Doe-Davis scored on runs of 16, 2, and 28 yards, helping Effingham County (2-2, 1-1) build an early 15-0 lead in the first quarter. The teams traded touchdowns the rest of the way in a high-scoring affair that featured 986 total yards of offense and 296 yards in penalties.
Junior JR McKenzie added 94 rushing yards and two touchdowns for the Rebels, while Isaiah Brown hauled in a touchdown pass from Tucker Perkins.
Bradwell (1-2, 1-1) finished with 584 yards of offense. Cameron Keeve rushed for 175 yards and two scores, and quarterback Jah’barri Felix threw for 281 yards and three touchdowns, keeping the game close until the final whistle.
