Sophomore Bailey Kendziorski hurled a no-hitter Saturday to lead South Effingham to an 8-0 victory over Habersham Central. Kendziorski logged seven strikeouts and didn’t issue a walk in the game in Covington. Earlier Saturday in Covington, the Mustangs edged Eastside 4-1. They blanked Newton 7-0 Friday.

About 25 South Effingham High School football moms hit the field Monday night for Mustang Mamas, a preseason event giving them a hands-on taste of drills, coaching and camaraderie. Between laughs and learning, the moms gained a new appreciation for what their sons go through in the Georgia heat.
