Lady Mustangs off to hot start

Thanks in part to stellar pitching by Bailey Kendziorski, South Effingham’s softball team reeled off three wins in the Buc Bash in Acworth on Friday and Saturday.

The Lady Mustangs improved to 8-1 by beating Colquitt County (2-0), Kennesaw Mountain (2-0) and Paulding County (15-5).

While going the distance in the first two games, Kendziorski allowed just seven hits with 10 strikeouts. She worked two scoreless frames without a walk in relief of Haleigh Maruca in the finale.

Sarah Messex and Emma Darrow each socked three RBI against Paulding County. Avery Roddenberry knocked in a pair of runs.
