SPRINGFIELD -- Despite being pushed to the limit, the Effingham County Lady Rebels advanced to the Class AAAAAA volleyball Sweet 16 by edging the Evans Lady Knights on Wednesday.

The Rebels won a five-set match 23-25, 25-18, 25-17, 23-25 and 16-14.

Effingham County will take on Northside-Warner Robins or North Atlanta on the road in the second round Saturday.
