Mustangs return to winning ways by stomping Warriors

GUYTON -- Hunter Walthour, Phillip Cooper and Nick Duke swatted multiple hits to lead South Effingham to an 11-3 victory over Jenkins on Wednesday.

Kaleb Johnson, who banged a triple, paced the Mustangs (10-3) in runs scored and RBI with three of each. Nick Milbrandt added two RBI. Zach Zorbo swatted a double.

Milbrandt was the winning pitcher. He worked four frames, giving up three hits and one run. He fanned seven.

Maddox Shiell, Zorbo and Walthour also pitched. Zorbo and Walthour didn't give up a run or a hit.

The Mustangs lost their previous game against Glynn Academy on Monday 6-0. The setback snapped their seven-game win streak.
