Brunswick squeaks past South Effingham

The Brunswick Pirates wriggled off South Effingham's hook Wednesday.

The Pirates rallied for three fifth-inning runs en route to a 4-3 non-region baseball victory in Brunswick.

 Jakob Valleroy took the loss in relief of Jakob Gross. He lasted two innings, allowing one hit and three runs while striking out five.

Gross surrendered one run on one hit over three innings, striking out one and walking none.

Valleroy was the game's best hitter, socking three of the Mustangs' seven safeties. Nick Milbrandt knocked in two runs.

The Pirates only got two hits but both were homers.

South Effingham is 4-6.
