The Colorado Rockies have released 14 minor leaguers, including former South Effingham star Austin Chambliss, according to insidetherockies.com.

Chambliss was drafted in the 17th round out of Middle Georgia College in 2007. He pitched at Single-A Modesto and Double-A Tulsa last season. He went a combined 3-3 with an earned run average of 4.00. He pitched in 59 games, striking out 63 in 83 1/3 innings.

He saved 13 games with low Single-A Tri City (Wash.) in 2008, posting an ERA of 2.20 while striking out 34 in 32 2/3 innings.
