Perry Herbert and Darryl Wright each scored 12 points but Patrick Blackburne had 24 points to lead the visiting Savannah Country Day Hornets basketball team to a 77-45 victory over Effingham County on Tuesday.

In all, three Hornets finished in double figures.

Melissa Burkhamer scored 18 points as the No. 2-ranked Savannah Country Day Lady Hornets basketball team downed host Effingham County 37-20 Tuesday night.

Savannah Country Day (20-2) is ranked No. 2 among Class A girls teams in the state.

Kyana Barber had eight points for the Lady Rebels, who host Glynn Academy on Friday night in a pivotal Region 3-AAAA game.
