Jimmy Currier has been named the new sports editor of The Effingham Herald, Editor Pat Donahue said.

He was most recently the sports editor of The Coastal Courier in Hinesville, starting there in April 2006.

“I am glad to have someone of Jimmy’s talent and expertise join our staff,” Donahue said. “We know sports and athletics are a vital part of this community, and I believe Jimmy can continue to provide the kind of coverage our readers want.”
