D.E.E.N.O.S. gymnasts rack up medals

The level 2 and 3 teams from Team D.E.E.N.O.S. won 16 medals, including eight state championships and 27 top 10 finishes, at the AAU state championships in Winder. Team members’ ages range from 7-16.

Level 3 gymnast Kylie Neal won the gold on floor, beam and all-around and took the silver on the vault. Taylor Brooks won gold on all four events and the all-around state champion title for the 12-and-older division. Naya Lily earned silver medals on the beam, vault and all-around. Chelsea Eddy earned a silver on the beam and vault and bronze on the bars and all-around. Earning top-10 finishes were Kayla Frady, Alyse Arrington, Avery Adams, Alyssa Jeffers, Alyssa LeTourneau, Taylor Colson and Hannah Traynor.

Six Level 4 gymnasts and five Level 5 gymnasts competed for state titles in Cumming and earned 19 medals, including eight state championships, and 27 top-10 finishes. Level 4 gymnast Taylor Doten earned gold on the floor and all-around, silver on bars and vault and bronze on beam.  Casey Meyers earned gold on floor, silver on all-around and bronze on beam. Caroline Johnson earned a bronze on beam, while Adasha Plunkett earned bronze on floor. Leah King earned silver on floor and all-around and a bronze on vault. McKaela Kramer had four top-10 finishes.

Nikki Joiner, a level 5 gymnast, swept the podium with gold by taking first place in vault, bars, beam, floor and the all-around state champion title in the 13-year-old age division. Teammate Jillia Kramer won bronze on the floor exercise. Alena Kramer, Sarah Drewry and Sabrina Saturday rounded out the level 5 team.
