D.E.E.N.O.S. honors standout gymnasts, coach at banquet

D.E.E.N.O.S. Team Gymnastics held its 2008-09 family day and awards banquet on Aug. 16. Seventy-five family and teammates celebrated the season’s achievements with an afternoon of activities at the New Ebenezer Retreat Center.  A catered dinner and awards banquet was hosted in the retreat’s Mildred D. Kessler Learning Center.

All D.E.E.N.O.S. team gymnasts were recognized with individual team participation awards, while several gymnasts were recognized for state and national achievements.

Special recognition was given to the following 2008-09 team members. Gymnast of the year was Chelsea Eddy, MVP gymnast was Taylor Colson, most improved gymnast was Nikki Joiner, rookie of the year gymnast was Alyse Arrington, Spirit Award winner was Caroline Johnson, hardest working gymnast was Taylor Doten, and the Leadership Award was given to Sabrina Saturday.

Team coach Ken Hale was recognized as coach of the year.
