ECHS girls storm past Lady Hurricanes

Stephanie Williams scored all six of her points in the fourth quarter, and the Effingham County Lady Rebels basketball team rallied to beat the Hardeeville (S.C.) Hurricanes 46-42 Tuesday night at the ECHS gym.

It was the second win for the Lady Rebels over the Lady Hurricanes in a week.

Effingham (10-5) led 29-23 at halftime, but Hardeeville rallied for a 35-34 lead at the end of the third period.

Kyana Barber led the Lady Rebels with 14 points and Sierra Goldwire added 12.

Whitney Roberson scored nine points, Shatika Flowers had three and Amanda Young had two points for the Lady Rebels.

Jomanda Smalls had a game-high 21 points, scoring eight in the first quarter for the Lady Hurricanes. Shantis Lee added 13 points.

Effingham is now 3-1 under interim coach Curtis Stevens.
