Georgia Southern baseball enters the Southern Conference Tournament as the No. 6 seed, thanks to a 5-2 win in the regular season finale against regular season co-champion Western Carolina.

The Eagles will face third-seed Elon on Wednesday at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park in Charleston, S.C. Game time will be at either 4 or 7:30 p.m. If The Citadel wins its play-in game Tuesday, then the Eagles will play the Phoenix at 4. Otherwise the game will take place at 7:30.

Georgia Southern (33-26 overall, 13-14 SoCon) lost 2-of-3 to Elon at J.I. Clements Stadium in early April, but all were one-run contests.

College of Charleston claimed the top-seed for the Tournament. Western Carolina, which finished in a tie with the Cougars for the regular-season crown, earned the No. 2 seed.

The double-elimination tournament opens today at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park. All 10 teams qualified for the tournament that features a double-elimination format culminating in the championship game Saturday.

The first game will feature No. 8 seed Furman (19-35, 11-16) vs. No. 9 seed Wofford (25-31, 8-19). No. 7 seed The Citadel (30-25, 12-15) will take on No. 10 seed Davidson (19-33, 8-19) in first round single-elimination games.
No. 4 seed Appalachian State (32-24, 14-13) will play No. 5 seed UNC Greensboro (28-28, 14-13) at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23. Charleston will play the winner of Furman/Wofford at 1 p.m. Western faces the winner of The Citadel/Davidson contest.
