Josh Reddick (Oakland Athletics) —The Gold Glove-winning outfielder remains on the 15-day disabled list with a wrist injury but told mlb.com he anticipates returning to action next week. He is hitting just .152 with one home run and 14 runs batted in. He also has six doubles and five stolen bases. Reddick was placed on the DL retroactively to May 7.

JB Wendelken (Greenville Drive) — The right-handed reliever has a 1-0 record and an earned run average of 3.38 for the Boston Red Sox’ single-A South Atlantic League team. He has allowed 42 hits in 440 innings, striking out 28 and walking 19. He also has two saves.

Colleges

Softball

Bridget Devlin (Armstrong Atlantic State University) — Devlin was 11-for-43 in 31 games for the No. 2-ranked Pirates. Devlin had two homers and nine RBIs.

Armstrong ended its season Sunday with a 14-1 loss to Central Oklahoma in the NCAA Division II softball championship semifinals in Salem, Va. AASU ended the season at 44-10-1.

Shelby Duff (AASU) —Duff’s 10th home run of the season was the only run the Pirates scored in their season-ending loss in the national semifinals. She also finished tied for the school record in runs scored with 152.

Duff finished her senior season with 33 RBIs and hit .370. She also had a team-leading 17 doubles and had 68 hits. She was also 10-3 with a 3.29 ERA in the circle, with 56 strikeouts and 66 hits allowed over 72 1/3 innings.

Alexis Mercer (AASU) — Mercer hit .339, with eight doubles, two triples, 13 homers and 44 RBIs. She also scored 46 runs and stole 11 bases.
