Baseball
Josh Reddick (Oakland Athletics) — Reddick was placed on the 15-day disabled list Aug. 26 and he is eligible to return Tuesday.
For the season, Reddick is hitting .213 with 10 homers and 46 runs batted in. He has 15 doubles and two triples to go with nine stolen bases.
JB Wendelken (Winston-Salem Dash) —Wendelken went 0-1 with the Dash, posting a 4.82 earned run average. He struck out 16 in 9 1/3 innings, allowing five earned runs on seven walks and 12 hits. For the season, including all three teams for which he has pitched, he went 2-2 with 12 saves and an ERA of 3.42. He had 78 strikeouts in 79 innings and gave up only five home runs.
Zach Dotson (Kingsport Mets) — Dotson tossed a scoreless inning against Bluefield on Friday. In three games, he posted an ERA of 6.00 with four strikeouts and two walks over three innings. He also allowed four hits.
The Kingsport Mets are in the Rookie-level Appalachian League playoffs.


College
Men’s cross country
Jesse Campbell (Georgia Regents University) — Campbell was 57th in the first meet of the year, the Georgia Southwestern University Remembrance Run at Americus-Sumter County Park. He had a time of 30:05.69. Georgia Regents won the team event. The Jaguars will run Sept. 20 at the Jaguar Invitational at Blanchard Woods Park in Evans.


Football
Tovar Allen (Alabama State University) — A junior offensive lineman, Allen started at tackle in Saturday’s game against Jackson State, which edged the Hornets 30-23. The Hornets finished with 356 yards of offense.
Drew Brindley (LaGrange College) — A freshman defensive back, Brindley did not play in LaGrange’s season-opening 59-38 loss to Birmingham Southern. The Panthers will play Saturday at Millsaps (Miss.).
Brandon James (LaGrange College) — James, a freshman quarterback, did not play in LaGrange’s loss to Birmingham Southern.
Justin McIntyre (LaGrange College) — A sophomore linebacker, McIntyre had two tackles, including one-half of a tackle for a loss, against Birmingham Southern.
Robert Scott (LaGrange College) — Scott, a freshman defensive tackle, did not play in the loss to Birmingham Southern.
Stephen Wilson (LaGrange College) — A freshman offensive lineman, Wilson played in the loss to Birmingham Southern.
Josh Mercer (North Carolina State) — A freshman running back, Mercer has yet to play for the Wolfpack (2-0), who meet Clemson on Sept. 19.


Women’s soccer
Sydnie Van Curen (Georgia Southern University) — The junior forward has one goal for the Eagles, who are 1-3. Georgia Southern will host Jacksonville on Friday.
Marissa Hamm (University of South Carolina Beaufort) — The sophomore did not play in a loss to USC Aiken on Saturday. The Sand Sharks (1-3-1) will Brewton-Parker on Thursday.
