Baseball
Josh Reddick (Oakland Athletics) — Reddick ended the regular season by going 6-for-20 over the last week, raising his batting average to .226.
He finished with 12 home runs and 56 runs batted in with 19 doubles and two triples. He also stole nine bases. In the field, he had a .981 fielding percentage and nine assists.
The Athletics open the American League Division Series on Friday at home against Detroit.

Men’s cross country
Jesse Campbell (Georgia Regents University) — Campbell was 35th with a time of 29:10.6 in the green division at the Charlotte Invitational on Saturday.
Ernie Zittrouer (Gordon State College) — A sophomore, Zittrouer had a time of 35:10.1 in the Georgia College Bobcat Invitational.
Damon Webb (Gordon State College) — A freshman, Webb had a time of 37:34.1 in the season-opening Georgia College Bobcat Invitational.
Blaine Ketchum (Tennessee Temple University) — A freshman, Ketchum posted a time of 32:40.86 at the Vanderbilt Invitational on Sept. 28. The Crusaders will run again Oct.12 at West Georgia.


Football
Tovar Allen (Alabama State University) — Allen, the starting right tackle, and the Hornets rolled up 297 rushing yards in a 49-30 win over Alcorn State. The Hornets (3-2) will visit Texas Southern on Saturday.
Justin McIntyre (LaGrange College) — A sophomore linebacker, McIntyre had a big game in the 35-21 win over Greensboro (N.C.), with six tackles, an interception and a forced fumble. The Panthers (1-2) will play N.C. Wesleyan in Rocky Mount, N.C., next.
Robert Scott (LaGrange College) — Scott, a freshman defensive tackle, has not recorded a tackle for the Panthers.
Stephen Wilson (LaGrange College) — Wilson is a freshman offensive lineman for the Panthers and played in Saturday’s win over Greensboro.
Josh Mercer (North Carolina State) — A freshman running back, Mercer did not play in the Wolfpack’s 48-14 win over Central Michigan. N.C. State (3-1) will visit Wake Forest on Saturday.


Women’s soccer
Sydnie Van Curen (Georgia Southern University) — The junior forward had three shot attempts in a 0-0 tie with Samford and had two shots, including one on goal, in a 2-1 win over Chattanooga. The Eagles, 2-5-2 overall and 1-0-1 in the Southern Conference, will host Applachian State on Friday and Western Carolina on Sunday.
Marissa Hamm (University of South Carolina Beaufort) — The sophomore had one shot in the 3-0 win over Florida Memorial and played but did not register a shot in a 7-0 loss to St. Thomas (Fla.). The Sand Sharks (4-5-1) will host Thomas University on Friday.
