Mustangs hurdle the competition at track meets

Cody Miller won the discus and finished third in the shot put for the South Effingham Mustangs in a March 25 track meet at Ware County.

Miller also won first in the discus at a meet at Bryan County on March 13.

Adam Best won the 300-meter intermediate hurdles and was second in the 110 high hurdles at the Ware County meet. JB Braswell won the 1,600 meter run in a time of 5:30 and was third in the 3,200 meters, just behind teammate Adam Schaffner.

Adam Pittman was third in the 200 meter dash at Ware County and Maurice Huntley was fourth in the 100 at that event.

Huntley had won the triple jump at March 3 meet at Southeast Bulloch.

South Effingham’s 4x100 relay teams took third and fourth at Bryan and the 4x400 relay quartet was third.

Christal Perez won the triple jump for the Lady Mustangs at Ware County and was also third in the long jump. Teammate Kynata Cope was second in the long jump.

The A 4x100 relay team won in a time of 51.63, and the B team was third at 54.58.

Tiacara Mack was third in the 100 meter hurdles and fourth in the 300 hurdles for the girls at Ware County.

Lateva Rushin was third in the 200 meter dash at Ware, with Cope just behind in fourth. Zakiya Rushin was fifth in the 100.

Mack won both hurdles events at the Bryan County as the Lady Mustangs racked up seven first-place finishes.
