Mustangs take bite out of Sharks

South Effingham pushed across four fifth-inning runs en route to a 7-4 non-region baseball victory over Islands on Thursday.

Caleb Radcliffe, Chase Warren, Jakob Valleroy, Nick Milbrandt and Jayce Warren had hits during the uprising.

The Mustangs (7-8) collected 11 hits overall, getting a team-high three from Valleroy, the winning pitcher. Valleroy also had a team-best two RBI.

Radcliffe and Milbrandt each had two hits. Dillon Jordan and Logan Rahn scored a couple of runs apiece.

Valleroy tossed five innings, allowing five hits and three (one earned) runs.

Josh Berg finished the game. He surrendered one run and one hit.
