The Effingham County Rebels (18-5, 4-2) took the rubber match of a Region 2-AAAAAA baseball series Thursday, winning 3-1 at Richmond Hill.

The series was tied 1-1 after a Rebels victory Monday and a Wildcats triumph Tuesday.

Garrett Miller was the star in Friday's game as he needed just 96 pitches -- more than 60 for strikes -- to post a complete-game victory. He allowed only three hits and struck out six.

Chase Howze knocked in Effingham County's first run with a second-inning sacrifice fly. It tied the game 1-1.

Jerid Stokes led the Rebels with three hits and an RBI. Dustin Johnson also knocked in a run.
